This negro woman Nana Hay is at liberty to get her self a home for the next year 1816 or if any person will bring me twenty Dollars Shee then shall go free given under my hand this 25 day of December 1815. Wm. Stark
I William Stark of Caroline county in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of Twenty Dollars, as mentioned in the above instrument this day paid me by Henry M Godwin: Have and by these presents do manumit and set absolutely Free my said Negro woman Nann Hay, above mentioned from me my heirs Exrs. administrators that she shall from thence forward be held taken deemed & as an for a free woman Witness my hand and seal this 12th day of February 1816. Kent County Sst } Be it remembered that the above named William Stark personally appeared before me Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware for Kent County and did acknowledge the above Instrument of writing or manumission as his act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and desires that the same may be recorded as such. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the 12th day of February 1816. Nathl. Smithers
