Whereas John Crockett of Kent County in the State of Delaware did on the twenty fifth day of September one thousand Eight hundred and thirteen Sell and dispose of a certain Negro Girl Named Grace to a Certain Isaac Buckingham of the county and State aforesaid for the Term of Twenty three years and five months from the day of the said sail with full Intent that she the said Grace should be free and at full Liberty at the Expiration of the said Term, Now Know all men that I the said John Crockett do hereby manumit and set free and at full Liberty the aforesaid Negro Girl Grace. Reserving to the said Isaac Buckingham the service and labour of the said Grace for the Remainder of the aforesaid Term of Twenty Three years & five months from the Twenty fifth day of September one thousand Eight hundred & thirteen. In Testamony of which I do hereunto set my Hand and seal this twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifteen 1815. John Crockett {seal}

Be it Remembered that John Crockett named in the within Manumission appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County and acknowledged the said within Manumission to be his act and deed and that he had Delivered the Same for the use & purpose therein mentioned Testamony of which I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty fifth day of May one thousand Eight hundred and fifteen 1815.
