Deed James Harmon Negro from Israel Peterson 1816

This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of May in  the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen Between Israel Peterson of Duck Creek hundred in the county of Kent and State of Delaware and Araminta his wife of the  one part and James Harmon of Sent Jones’s hundred county and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Israel Peterson and Araminta his wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seventy five pounds good and Lawfull money of the State aforesaid to them in hand paid by the Said James  Harmon at or before the Sealing and delivering of these presents the Receipt whereof they the Said Israel Peterson and Araminta his wife doth hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith fully satisfied Contented and paid Hath granted bargained Sold released aliened enfeoffed Conveyed confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain Sell release alien enfeoff Convey and Confirm unto the aforesaid James Harmon his heirs and assigns forever all the following described piece or parcel of Land Situate Lying and being in Sent Jones’s Hundred County and State aforesaid and on or near the head of Vincents Marsh it being part of the same Lands That Robert Blckshire late of Kent County died seized and possessed off and is the Same or a part of the Same that on the division thereof was allotted to Robert Blackshire the younger as his Share or dividend of his fathers Real Estate which Said part to be Conveyed is described as follows Viz – Beginning at a Stake in the line of Land formerly laid off to Jane Blackshire one of the heir of the Said Robert Blackshire and running from thence with the line of said Land South fifty five degrees and fifty five minutes west one hundred and forty one perches to a Stake thence North forty Seven degrees and one half degree west seventy eight perches and three quarters of a perch, Thence North thirty one degrees and twenty three minutes west twenty eight perches and one quarter of a perch, North Eighty three degrees East fifty perches, North thirty Eight degrees and fifty two minutes East one hundred and twenty two perches, and South thirty four degrees East seventy six perches and Eight tenths parts of a perch to the place of beginning Containing and laid out for Fifty four acres and one third part of an acre be the same more or Less. Together with all and singular the houses buildings orchards gardens fields fences woods underwoods Timber and trees marshes, meadows Cripples pastors with the hereditaments and every the appurtenances whatsoever to the Same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and reversions, remained and remainders, rents issues and profits thereof and also all the Estate right title interest property Claim and demand whatsoever of them the Said Israel Peterson and Araminta his wife of in and unto all and Singular the lands and premises described aforesaid either in Law or equity or otherwise. To have  and To Hold all and Singular the Lands and premises hereby granted unto the aforesaid James Harmon to his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the Said James Harmon his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever, And the Said Israel Peterson and Araminta his wife the Lands and  premises aforesaid against themselves and their heirs and against all and every person or persons whatsoever now claiming or here after to Claim and part thereof from by or under him them or any of them will at all times for ever warrant and defend by these presents- In witness whereof the Said Israel Peterson and Araminta his wife hath hereunto set  their hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first above written. State of Delaware Kent County Sst.  Be it Remembered that on the twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Seventeen Before me Isaac Davis one of the Judges of the Supreme Court for the State aforesaid Personally appeared Israel Peterson and Araminta his wife in the within Indenture Named and acknowledged the Said indenture to be their act and Deed. And the said Araminta being by me privately Examined seprate & appart from her Said husband and Acknowledge that She became a party to Said Indenture of her own free will & accord without being induced thereto by any fear threats or Compusion of her said husband. In Testimony whereof I have here unto Set my hand the day & year last aforesaid. Isaac Davis
