In the Name of God amen I Solomon Wallace of Kent County on Delaware, being sick and Weak in Body by of Sound mind & memory, & Understanding, do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament Imprimus I give and devise unto my Daughter Elizabeth Clark Twenty Pounds to her and her Heirs for ever Item. I give and Devise unto my two Sons Reuben Wallace and Jonathan Wallace all the Land that I bought of Elias and James Ringold whereon I now live on to be Equally Divided Between them and their Heirs & Assigns for ever, according to the Quantity and Quality, they Paying their two Sisters Ann Dixon and Mary Smith one Hundred Pounds Each, at Twenty Pounds each per year, Item I Give to my Son Reuben Wallace Two Horses that is now Called his, two Cowes one Calf one yearling one Bed and Furniture, and four Ewes and Lambs to him his Heirs & assigns forever. Item I give to my son Jonathan Wallace Two Cowes and Calfs one yearling Colt Four Ewes and Lambs one bed and Furniture, and a Lott of Blacksmith Tools One Negro Boy Named Isaac the Use of him untill he is Twenty years of age, then my Will is that he return said Negro Boy to his Mother, to him his Heirs and assigns for ever, Item I give to my Daughter Peggy Caldwell Gordon one Negro Girl Named Rose, one Bed and Furniture Two Cows and Calfs Four Ewes and Lambs one Desk, one Mair saddle & Bridle to her heirs and assigns for ever Item I give to my son William Wallace all that Tract or Parcel of Land formerly belonging to Mark Smith and Sold by William Rhodes late Sheriff said to Contain Three Hundred Acres, also one Hundred and fifty acres formerly belonging to Martha Smith to him his Heirs and assigns for ever, also one good Horse two Cowes and Calves one Bed and Furniture Four Ewes & Lambs, he the said William Wallace Paying to his Sister Peggy Caldwell Gordon the Sum of Twenty Pounds p year for five years, also my Will is that all my Just debts and funeral Expenses be paid by my Executor hereafter Named at Some Convenient Time after my Decease. And Lastly I do give and Bequeath to my Dearly beloved Wife Margaret Wallace all the Residue of my Estate both real and Personal in this County or Elsewhere, to her heirs and Assigns forever. And I do Nominate and appoint my said Wife Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former Will or Wills heretofore by me Made, In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my seal this 29th Day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven. Personally appeared before me Caesar Rodney Esqr, Register for the Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration within the County of Kent on Delaware William Rhodes Esqr, Sarah Greenwood and Ann Brady the Subscribing Witnesses to the above and foregoing Will of Solomon Wallace deceased and being Severally Sworn on the Holy Evangelists of almighty God Depose and Say that they Saw and heard the Testator Sign, Seal, Publish, Pronounce & declare the above and foregoing Instrument of Writing to be his last Will and Testament, that at the time of so doing and saying he was to the best of their Belief, of Sound and Disposing mind and Memory, & that they at his Instance and Request and in his presence Signed and Saw each other sign their Names as Evidences to the Same. Be it Remembered that on the Thirteenth Day of May anno Dom. Seventeen Hundred and Seventy Seven the last Will and Testament of Solomon Wallace decd in due form of Law & Probate & Letters Testamentary thereof were granted to Margaret Wallace Executrix in the same Will named being Sworn well and truly to administer the said Estate of the decd and to Exhibit an Inventory thereof into the Registers Office at Dover on or before the thirteenth day of November next and Render a true and just Account of her Executorship when thereunto Legally required. Given under the Seal of the said Office.
