Deed Ceasor Brinckley N. From Mary Catts & Others 1815

This Indenture made the Eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifteen Between Mary Catts James Catts, Amelia Catts and Samuel Catts of Kent County in the State of Delaware of the one part and Ceasor Brinckley of the county aforesaid free Negro of the other part, Whereas Thomas Catts late of the county aforesaid in his life time and at the time of his death was lawfully seised and possessed of and in a certain Lot of ground situate Lying & being near the Village of Camden in Said County on the east side of the main Road leading from said Village to the town of Dover bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a stake in the center of said road in a line of the lands of the heirs of Thomas Edmondson decd. thence south sixty seven and a half degrees East in a line of the Lot of ground of Jabez Jenkins decd. ten perches and five tenths of a perch to a stake in a line of Lands late of Thomas Hanson decd. being the dividing line between two Ancient Tracts of Land Brecknock and Reserve, thence with said line north sixteen degrees East nine perches and six tenths of a perch to a stake in said line thence North Seventy one degrees west six perches and Eight tenths of a perch to a stake in the Centre of the said Road thence with the Said Road south thirty eight and a half degrees west nine and five tenths perches to the first mentioned stake and place of Beginning Containing and lad out for half an acre of ground neat measure be the same more or less And the said Thomas Catts being so seized and possessed of and in the said lot of ground and premises died Intestate leaving a widow the afsd.  Mary Catts and the afsd James Amelia & Samuel Catts children of him the said Thomas Catts decd. and the aforesaid Mary Catts widow of the said Thomas Catts, and the said James, Amelia & Samuel Catts children and heirs at law of the said Thomas Catts being now about to grant and convey to the said Ceasor Brinckley all their undivided right and title of and in the said Lot of ground and premises whereof the said Thomas Catts died seized and possessed as aforesaid Therefore This Indenture witnessed that the said Mary Catts H James Catts, Amelia Catts and Samuel Catts for and in Consideration of the Just and full sum of Lawfull money of the united states of America to them in hand paid by the said Ceasor Brincklee before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith fully satisfied Contented and paid Have granted bargained sold released aliened enfeoffed & confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release alien enfeoff Convey and confirm to the said Ceasor Brincklee and his heirs and assigns forever all their said Mary Catts, James Catts H Amerlia Catts and Samuel Catts undivided right and title of and in the said lot of ground Whereof the said Thomas Cotts died seized and possessed as aforesaid and descended to them as heirs at Law of the said Thomas Catts as afsd. Together with all & singular the houses buildings fences ways waters Emoluments Hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said lot of Ground belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents Issues and profits thereof with all the Estate Right Title Interest property claim & demand whatsoever of them the said Mary Catts, James Catts, Amelia Catts and Samuel Catts of in and unto the said Lot of ground and premises, To have and to Hold all and singular their undivided right and title of and in the said Lot of ground & premises with the appurtenances thereto belonging hereby granted bargained and sold to the said Ceasor Brincklee and his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Ceasor Brincklee  and his heirs and assigns forever and the said Mary Catts James Catts, Amelia Catts, and Samuel Catts the said herein before discribed Lot of ground and premises with the appurtenances thereto belonging hereby granted bargained and sold or their undivided right and title thereto to the said Ceasor Brincklee and his heirs and assigns against themselves the said Mary Catts, James Catts, Amelia Catts and Samuel Catts and their heirs respectively and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever now Lawfully claiming or hereafter to Claim the same or any part or parcel thereof be from or under them or under or either of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these Presents, In witness whereof the said Mary Catts, James Catts, Amelia Catts, and Samuel Catts have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year herein before written. Kent County State of Delaware Sst. Be it remembered that on this Eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifteen Mary Catts James Catts and Amelia Catts the grantors in the foregoing Indenture named personally came before me William Warner one of the Justices of the court of common pleas for the state of Delaware and acknowledged the same to be their act and Deed Respectively and desired that it might be recorded as such In Witness thereof I have Hereunto set my hand the day and year above written.
