Manumission Negro Lottey from James Deputy 1818

Know all men by these presents that I James Deputy of Cedar Creek Hundred in the County of Sussex and State of Delaware doth by these presents Manumitt Emancepate Liberate and set free the following Negro the Slave of me the said James Deputy to wit Lottey to be free from the day of the date of this  present Lottey being now about twenty Six years of age and I do for myself my heirs Executors Administrators or assigns release unto the said Lottey all my right title clame and  Interest to the said Negro Woman Lottey declaring her to be absolutely Free from me my heirs Executors Administrators or assigns or any person claiming under me and is now taken deemed and considered as a free person to all Intents and purpises In Witness whereof I the said James Deputy have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventeenth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eight 1818 James Deputy {seal}

Sussex County Ss. The State of Delaware Be it remembered that on the Seventeenth day of July A.D. eighteen hundred and Eighteen James Deputy of the County of Sussex and State afsd came before me the Subscriber one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace in and for the County aforesaid and did in my presence sing seal and acknowledge the above and foregoing Manumission and declared the same to be his act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned Given under my had the day and year first above Written Recorded 10th Augt 1818 William Shockley
