Negro Isaac Manumission from Reuben Turner 1818

Know all men by these presents that I Reuben Turner of the city of Philadelphia for diverse good causes and Considerations me hereunto moving do hereby manumit enfranchise and absolutely set free a certain negro man named Isaac (who I left in Kent County in the State of Delaware when I removed to Philadelphia to be free and at his prefect liberty from the date here of. And I the said Reuben Turner do hereby warrant and defend the liberty and freedom of the above named negro man Isaac from the lawful claim or claims of myself my heirs Execr. and Administrators and every of them and from all and every other person or persons Claiming or to Claim by from or under me them or any of them, In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this third day of February Eighteen hundred and Eighteen _ 1818.  Reuben Turner {seal}

Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of James Starr Elias Shockley

State of Delaware Kent County Before me Elias Shockley one of the Justices Assigned to keep the Peace in and for the aforesaid County on the Third day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & Eighteen Personally appeared the Within Named Reuben Turner in his proper persona And did Acknowledge and declare the within Manumission of Isaac named & Mentioned therein to be his act and Deed according the True intent and meaning thereof, In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal.
