Know all men by these that I Abraham Pierce of the Village of Smyrna Kent County & State of Delaware for Divers good Causes me thereunto moving have Emancipated & set free my Negro Woman Named Rachel a Slave to be free on the first day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty four & after the above date I do for myself my heirs executors and administrators discharge the said Rachel from mine & their Claims & Services In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my had and seal this twenty Ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Nineteen.
