Manumission Negro Rachel from Abraham Pierce 1819

Know all men by these that I Abraham Pierce of the Village of Smyrna Kent County & State of Delaware for Divers good Causes me thereunto moving have Emancipated & set free my Negro Woman Named Rachel a Slave to be free on the first day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty four & after the above date I do for myself my heirs executors and administrators discharge the said Rachel from mine & their Claims & Services In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my had and seal this twenty Ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Nineteen. I do certify that Abraham Pierce came before me Robert  Patterson one of the Justices of the Peace in and for Said County and acknowledged the above instrument of Manumission to be his act and deed and the Signature and Seal thereto anexed to be respectively his. Witness my hand this thirty first day of March in the year of  our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Nineteen. Robert Patterson
