Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Biddle of the Village of Milford in the County of Kent & State of Delaware for divers good causes and Consideration me hereunto moving do hereby Manumit enfranchise and absolutely set free my Negro Woman named Amia to be free and at her full & perfect Liberty at the full end and expiration of Ten years from and after the date hereof which will be on the first day of March Eighteen hundred & twenty six at which time she will be about Twenty Eight years of age also I do hereby Manumit enfranchise & absolutely set free the said negro woman daughter Ellen now an infant to be free and at her perfect Liberty at the full end and expiration of twenty five years from and after the date hereof which will be on the first day of March Eighteen hundred & forty one at which time Said Ellen will be about twenty six years of age And I do hereby warrant & defend the liberty & freedom of the Said Negroes Amia & Ellen from myself my heirs executors and administrators and from all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under me or otherwise. State of Delaware Kent County. I do hereby Certify that Jacob Biddle personally appeared before me Elias Shockley one of the Justices of the peace in & for the aforesaid County and acknowledged the above manumission of Negroes Amia & Ellen to be his act & deed agreeable to the true intent and meaning thereof in due form of Law this 13th day of March Eighteen hundred & Sixteen.
