Know all men by these Presents, That I Abraham Moore of Duck creek hundred in Kent County and State of Delaware do by these presents manumit and enfranchise a certain Negro man named Alexander now about the age of twenty eight years and the proper slave of me the Said Abraham Moore to be free and at liberty at the expiration of the term of five years from the date of these presents And I do for myself, my heirs executors and administrators and assigns grant that the Said negro Alexander shall be free and at liberty and absolutely and forever enfranchised and set free immediately from and after the expiration of the term of five years from and after the said date of these presents. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventeen. Abraham Moore {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County Sst. Be it Known That on the sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventeen before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace of the State of Delaware in and for Kent County aforesaid at my office in Dover in Said County Came Abraham Moore of the said County in his proper person and acknowledged the within written and foregoing manumission to be his Act and Deed and desired that the same may be recorded as such.
