State of Delaware Kent County Sst Be it known that I Mary Jarrell of Murderkill hundred in said county for divers good Causes and considerations me thereunto moveing have manumitted emancipated liberated and set free a certain Slave Negro woman named Rachel Reserving to myself my heirs executors administrators or assigns the Service and labour of the Said negro Rachel for and during the term of Eleven years and three months from the day of the date hereof or until the said Negro Rachel Shall arive to the full age of twenty eight years But if She the Said negro Rachel Shall abscond herself from the service of self the Said Mary Jarrell my heirs Exr administrators or assigns that then and in Such case the Said Negro Rachel So absconding Shall make good all Such Cost time by So absconding by Servitude and Labour after the expiration of the time mentioned for her to Serve as aforesaid. Bonwill one of the Justices of the peace for Said County on this day And did acknowledge the Same to be her act and Deed and delivered it for the purposes therein mentioned In Testimony whereof I Set my hand and Seal the 20th day of June 1821.
