Manumission Negro Leah from Mitchell Kershaw 1814

Sussex County State of Delaware to all whome these presents shall come Greeting I Mitchell Kershaw of Sussex County in the State of Delaware for Divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving do hereby Declare free manumite and enfranchise the negro following to wit one Girl Called and known by the name of Leah at upon the Twenty fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Seven 1827 hearby acknowledging the said Negro Girl free and discharged from all claims of service or right of property whatever at the above date and day from me my heirs executors or administrators, as witness my hand and seal the Twenty ninth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and fourteen 1814. Sussex County Sst on the 29th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fourteen personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for said County the aforesaid Mitchell Kershaw party to the within and above Instrument of writing who acknowledged the said instrument to be his act and deed and the Signature and Seal thereunto annexed to be Respectvely his.
