The accountant craves and Allowance for an error in the Inventory and appraisement unknown at the time of the former Settlements to wit; For the appraised value of a Black man named Jerry, appraised at the sum of $300 – whereas it appears by a manumission Duly executed by a certain Elizabeth Soper of Kent County on the 5th day of July 1799, that the said Jerry was free on the 5th day of January 1816. It being represented that the said Black Man Jerry absconded about four years ago, and it appearing by the manumission now exhibitted to the Register that he ought not to have been appraised as a Slave, the administratrix is therefore allowed for the amount of the appraisement of the said Black man Named Jerry the sum of………………300..
