Whereas I Samuel M Wharton of St Jones Neck and hundred in the County of Kent in the State of Delaware for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty five Dolls. to me in hand paid by Outten Davis of Same neck & hundred county and State afsd. Have granted bargained and Sold And by these presents do grant bargain and Sell unto the Said Outten Davis his heirs Executors or administrators A Negro Man Named Isaac to have and to hold to him the Said Outten Davis his heirs executors administrators or assigns, And I the said Samuel M Wharton for my self my heirs Executors and administrators to Said Negro Man unto the Said Outten Davis his heirs executors or administrators against me the said Samuel M Wharton or my heirs Executors or administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and defend by these presents. Kent County Sst. Be it Remembered that on this 21st day of January A.D. 1826 Personally appeared Samuel M Wharton within named before me Jacob Furbee Esquire one of the Justices assigned to keep the peace for Kent County afsd. And acknowledged the within instrument of writing as his act and Deed according to the purport and effect true intent and meaning of the Same and desired the Same to be recorded as such.
