Manumission Negro Milby from Williams Rickards Senr. 1813

Know all men by these presents that I William Rickards Senr. of Sussex County and State of Delaware for Divers good causes me thereunto moveing Do hereby manumit and set free my negro man named Milby aged Twenty five years old or there about from me and my said Executors administrators or assigns from the day of the date hereof forever to injoy all privileges  of a free Negro or Mulato in this State or else where In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen May ye. 1st 1813. Signed Sealed and acknowledged in Presents of Hannah Derickson, John Rickards his mark. Sussex County the State of Delaware, Be it, remembered that the within named William Rickards Personally appeared before me Ezekiel Williams one of the Justices of the peace of said County and did acknowledge the within Deed of Manumation to be his own act and Deed and that the said Negro man named Milby Rickards is free according to the True intent and meaning of the said Deed of Manumation, In Testamony whereof I set my hand and seal this 1st day of May 1813  Ezekl Williams {seal}
