Manumission Negro Jacob Conwell from John Conwell CC 1816

Know all men by these presents that I John Conwell (CC) of the County of Sussex and State of Delaware being now the sole owner and having the entire and exclusive right to a certain negro man known by the name of Jacob aged thirty one years or thereabouts Do for certain good reasons me thereunto moving manumit Liberate and fully set free the said negro man Jacob hereafter to be known by the name of Jacob Conwell, And I Do declare that after the Twenty fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Seventeen that the said Jacob shall be forever released from all claims of further service from me the said John Conwell (CC) my heirs Executors administrators or assigns and after reserving to myself my heirs Executors administrators or assigns the service of the  said Jacob untill the said Twenty fifth day of December One thousand Eight hundred and Seventeen I do declare that the said Jacob shall then be at full liberty to act and do for himself without being molested or hindered by me my heirs Executors Administrators  or assigns and will forever warrant and defend the said Jacob against all manner of persons claiming or to claim by or under me them or any of them or claiming or to claim in any manner whatsoever will forever warrant and Defend In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal April 17th 1816. Signed Sealed and Acknowledged in the presence of John Hazzard Absalum Hudson. Sussex County Sst Be it Remembered that Personally appeared John Conwell (CC) before me David Hazzard one of the Justices of the peace in and for the County afsd and acknowledged the within manumission to be his act and deed and that he signed and sealed the same as such.
