Negro George Hill Manumission from Reuben Anderson 1819

Know all men by these presents that I Reuben Anderson of the County of Kent & State of Delaware for divers good Causes & consideration me hereunto moving do Manumit, Enfranchise and absolutely set free a certain negro man named George Hill to be free and at his perfect liberty since the twentieth day of March last past, and the aforesaid Reuben Anderson do warrant and defend the liberty & freedom of the above named negro George Hill from the lawful Claim or Claims of me my heirs Executors or administrators and every other person or persons claiming or to claim by from or under me, In testimony thereof I have hereunto Set my & Seal this Sixteenth day of July Eighteen hundred & nineteen. Signed Sealed & Acknowledged in the presence of us Samuel Neall

State of Delaware Kent County. Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of theJustices of the peace in and for Said County Reuben Anderson the Same whose name is signed to the above manumission & acknowledged the same to be his act and deed according to the true intent & meaning Thereof ^ in due form of Law In Testimony where of ^ I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Sixteenth day of July Eighteen hundred & nineteen. 1819 S.
