Deed from William Darnel and wife to Samuel W. Chambers
This Indenture made the fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six between William Darnel N of Murderkill hundred Kent County and State of Delaware and Ruth Ann his wife of the one part and Samuel W Chambers of the hundred County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, That for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars lawful money of the United States of America to them the Said William Darnel and Ruth A. his wife in hand paid by the Said the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged and themselves therewith fully Satisfied, contented and paid have granted bargained alienated, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do and each of them hath granted, bargained, Sold, aliened, enfeoffed, conveyed, released, and confirmed unto the Said Samuel W. Chambers his heirs and assigns forever all that piece or lot of land lying and being in Murderkill hundred County and State aforesaid In the South east side of Double run branch joining the land of Samuel W Chambers & John B. Connor and contained within the following meets and bounds, to wit Beginning at a Stake in the South east corner of a grave yard and thence South twenty two degrees West forty perches to a Stake thence North fifty four degrees and thirty Six minutes West twenty two perches to a Stake thence North twenty five and a quarter degrees east thirty eight perches to a Stake near a bank in line of Samuel W. Chambers land thence by and with said line South thirty eight degrees east Seventeen perches to the place of Beginning containing four acres and twenty two perches of land together with all and Singular the houses, fences, ways, woods, water and water courses, libbertys, privilidges heraditaments and appurtainces whatsoever thereunto belonging the reversion and reversions, rents issues and profits there of and all right, title, interest and claim property and demand whatsoever of them the said William Darnel and Ruth Ann his wife of in to or out of the Same or any part thereof, To Have and To Hold the Said lot, piece or parcel of land with the appertainces unto the Said Samuel W. Chambers his heirs and assigns for ever and to their only proper use and benefit. This Witness the Sume above mentioned of fifty dollars is paid at the Sining this Indenture by me. William Darnel his mark

State of Delaware Kent County ss Be it remberd that on the nineteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eighteen hundred and fifty Six parsonely com before me Thomas R. Finsthwait a Notary Pubalic for the County and State aforesaid William Darnel and Ruth Ann his wife parties to this Indenture known to me pursonly and sevraly acknowledged this Indenture to be their dead; and the Said Ruth Ann being at Same time privatly examand by me apart from her husband acknowledged that She execude the Said Indenture willingly without compulsation or threat of fear of her husband despleashure.
