Betty Vining Manumission from Abraham Allee 1817

Know all Men by these presents That I Abraham Allee of Wilmington in the State of Delaware from divers good Causes and Consideration me thereunto moving have manumitted enfranchised and set free from  Slavery and do hereby manumit enfranchise and set free from slavery my female Negro Slave called and known by the name of Betty Vining who was the wife of JohnVining Negro deceased and who is not healthy and no ways decrepit or rendered incapable of getting her living: In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Sixteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventeen. Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of A Johns H. M. Ridgely

State of Delaware Kent County Sst. } Be it remembered that on this sixteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventeen Abraham Allee party to the above deed of Manumission personally appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace of the State aforesaid in and for the County aforesaid and did Acknowledge that the Said manumission is his act and deed. In Testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and Seal the day and year in this behalf above written. James Schee {seal}
