Know all men by these presents, That I Thomas Brown of the County of Kent and State of Delaware, for divers good causes and Considerations do hereby Manumit enfranchize and absolutely set free my Negro Girl Called Mary, to be free and at her full and perfect liberty on the first day of July eighteen hundred and twenty six at which time she will be about twenty five years old. And I do hereby warrant and defend, the liberty and freedom of the Said Negro girl Mary form my self my heirs executors and administrators and from all and every person & persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the Said Negro Girl by from or under me after the the expiration of the afsd time or term. State of Delaware Kent County Sst: I do certify that the above named Thomas Brown personally appeared before me the Subscriber ^one of the Justices of the peace in and for the said County and acknowledged the execution of the above and foregoing Manumission and also that the same is his act and deed agreeable to the true intent and meaning thereof In Testimony whereof I have set my hand & Seal at my office in Frederica this 26th day of November A.D. 1817.
