Ann Manumission from Ezekiel Cooper Junr 1817

Know all men by these presents that I Ezekiel Cooper Junr. of Kent County in the State of Delaware Hath manumitted emancipated liberated and set free, and by these presents doth manumit Eancipate, liberate and set free and at full liberty a certain Negro Girl named Ann the slave of me the said Ezekiel Cooper she being now about Eighteen years old, and that she the Said Ann Shall forever here after be deemed and Considered a free woman and shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges that a free Negro or mulatto may or can enjoy in the said state of Delaware. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal the Seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventeen. Ezekiel Cooper {seal}

Kent County Sst: Be it remembered that the above named Ezekiel Cooper party to the above manumission Personally appeared before me Nathaniel Smithers one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Delaware for Kent County and did acknowledge the above instrument of writing as his act and Deed for the uses and purposes there in specified and requests that it may be recorded as Such. In Testimony whereof I have here unto Set my hand and affixed my Seal the Seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Seventeen. Nath..l Smithers.
