This Indenture of Bargain & Sale made this Eighteenth day of October anno Domini Seventeen Hundred and Eighty four Between Capt. John Wilson of the County of Kent in the Delaware State of the one part, and Capt. James Moore of the City of Philadelphia, in the State fo Pennsylvani of the other Part, Witnesseth that the said John Wilson, for and in consideration of the Sum of Ten Pounds in hand paid or well Secured to be paid, Hath Bargained & Sold, unto the said James Moore one Molatto Boy named John, aged eight years to serve the said James Moore his heirs Executs. or administrators from the day of the date hereof, for and during the Term of Seventeen Years to be fully Complete and Ended during the said Term the said James Moore doth Promise for himself his Executors and administrators to find and allow unto the Said Molatto Boy, during the Term afsd. Sufficient Meat Drink Washing Lodgeing and wearing apperl suitable for such an apprentice, and in Such a manner and at such times and Seasons as the Said Boy may not at any time within the Term afsd have any Cause to Complain and the said James Moore doth Promise for himself his heirs Executors, and administrators that at the Expiration of the said Term of Seventeen Years, he will Deliver or cause to be Delivered unto the said John Wilson, his heirs Executors or administrators the said Molatto Boy Called John, Provided he the said Mollatto Boy shall be living and the said James Moore doth Promise and engage for himself his Heirs Executors and administrators to learn or Cause to be Learned the said Mollatto Boy John within the Term afsd., to read Print And for the True performance of all and Singular the Covenants and agreements herein before mentioned Each of the Said Parties Bind themselves unto the other in the Sum of Fifty Pounds Specie Witness our Hands and Seals John Wilson {seal} James Moore {seal}
