In the name of God Amen, I John Furbee (a coloured man) of the County of K[ent] and State of Delaware viewing the uncertainty of Life and the certainty of Death, being [of?] a Sound, disposing mind memory and understanding and wishing to settle and assign [my?] Temporal affairs (thanks be to Almighty God for the same, do make this my last [Will] and Testament and only will in manner and form as is herein after mentioned, I do [first?] And principally commit and commend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God [who] gave it and after my funeral charges and Just debts are paid, my will and desire [is that?] Manlove Frazier, Alexander Frazier and William Frazier (sons of William Frazier have and enjoy all the property which I bought of Sheriffs sale of the aforesaid Wm in November 1813 that is to say three beds, six chairs, one Loomb, three Iron Pots, two [?} Two Tables, one Cubbard, two spinning wheels one large wheel, two Pot Trammels, [?} Sundry knives & forks, earthen ware etc to them their heirs and assigns forever, Second I give and bequeath to my wife Tamer Furbee during her life time, a house and Lot [?] =und containing about twenty acres of Land that I bought of Richard Bassett Esq [?} part as [?] His Alienation Bond, near Dover and after her death my will and desire [is?] That the aforesaid Lot or Piece of Land shall be sold to the best advantage and the [money?] arising therefrom shall be equally divided between my several children that is [to say?] Daffiny Smith, Rachel Bryan, Sarah Rodney, Sally Ann Lowber, Clement Fur[bee] Edward Furbee and Tamer Frazier, Thirdly my will and desire is that my Exe[cutor] herein after named shall sell and dispose of all my personal property and after my [just?] debts and funeral charges are paid as above mentioned the Balance of money [?} If any shall be equally divided between my wife Tamer Furbee, Daffiny Smith, [Rachel] Bryan and Sarah Rodney, Fourthly and lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint [?} Furbee and Samuel White of the Town of Dover my whole and sole Executors to this [my] last will and Testament revoking all others heretofore made by me, In Witness I hav hereunto subscribed my name this Eleventh day of February in the year [of] our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen. State of Delaware, Personally came [Isaac Poynter?] Joseph Martin before me Kent County SS James Harper Register of Kent County for the probate of wills [?] granting Letters of Administration and made oath that they saw John Furbee [?] by way of making his mark sign and seal and heard him publish pronounce [and] declare the with instrument of writing as and for his last will and Testament. That at the time of his so doing and saying he was of sound and disposing mind [mem]ory and understanding and that they subscribed the same as Witnesses in his presence and at his request. Be it remembered that on the twenty third day of February one thousand eight [hu]ndred and fifteen, The last will and Testament of John Furbee (n) decd was [?]ned and approved and Letters Testamentary thereon were in due form of Law granted to Jacob Furbee and Samuel White Executors named in said will who being [?] Gave Bond with Ezekies Anderson their surety in the sum of one thousand [doll]ars as p Bond filed.
