Deed Charles Griffith (Griffin) and  Wife To Matthew Draper 1850

This Indenture made the second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty Between Charles Griffith of the County of Kent and State of Delaware and Margaret his wife of the one part, and Matthew Draper of the same County and State of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Charles Griffith and Margaret his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of the United States of America paid to them by the said Matthew Draper at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof the said Charles Griffith and Margaret his wife do and each of them doth hereby acknowledge Have and each  of them Hath granted sold, aliened released enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents Do and each of them doth grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Matthew Draper his heirs and assigns all that certain lot or parcel of ground situate on the North side of North Street of the town of Dover adjoining lands of Thomas Harris and others, and bounded and contained within the following metes and bounds to wit Beginning at the East corner of a lot of ground late or formerly sold by Joseph Harper and wife to James Stewart, on North Street & from thence running along said Street and binding therewith thirty five feet to a corner of a lot a piece of ground formerly sold by the sd Joseph harper and wife to a certain Ralph Corse (free negro) thence with the line of said Ralph Corse’s lot, which is a parallel line with said Stewart’s lot, to the line of a lot lately purchased by Jonathan McNatt, from Avis White widow and devisee of John White decd. Thence with said McNatt’s lot about Thirty five feet to the corner of a lot formerly owned by a certain James Stewart thence with the line of said lot to the place of beginning containng about nine square perches of land be the same more or less, being same lot and premises which the said Matthew Draper and Hester Ann his  wife conveyed to the said Charles Griffith by an indenture of bargain and sale bearing date the ninth day of June A.D. 1848, and all and singer the buildings fixtures woods ways, easements improvements privileges and appurtenances to the said lot and premises belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof, and all the estate right title interest claim, property demand and possibility of them the said Charles Griffith and Margaret his wife at law or in equity to in or out of the same and every part and parcel thereof To Have and To Hold the said lot and premises hereby bargained and sold or intended to be with the the Appurtenances unto him the said Matthew Draper his heirs and assigns To and for the only property use & behoof of him the said Matthew Draper his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness Whereof the said Charles Griffith and Margaret his wife have hereunto respectively set their hands and seals the day and year first herein written. State of Delaware SS Be it remembered that on the second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty personally appeared before the Subscriber a notary & Tabellion public of said State Charles Griffin and Margaret his wife named in this Indenture and acknowledged said Indenture to be their Act and deed respectively, and desired that it might be recorded, And that on the same day the said Margaret Griffin wife of the said Charles Griffin being privately examined by me apart from her husband acknowledged, that she executed the said Indenture willingly without compulsion or threats or fear of her husbands displeasure
