Know all Men by these presents that We James Sykes Physician and Agnes Sykes for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twelve pounds ten Shillings lawful money of the Delaware State to us in hand paid by Cuffee Ellis at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof we the Said James Sykes and Agnes Sykes do hereby acknowledge have Granted bargained and Sold, and by these presents do Grant Bargain and Sell unto the Said Cuffee Ellis his Executors administrators and assigns one negro boy named George Sykes Ellis aged about Eight Years now in the possession of us the Said James Sykes and Agnes Sykes To Have and to Hold the Said negro boy above mentioned or intended to be sold to the Said Cuffee Ellis his Executors Administrators and Assigns forever and We the Said James Sykes and Agnes Sykes for ourselves Our Heirs Exrs and Administrators the Said negro boy named George Sykes Ellis unto the Said Cuffee Ellis his Executors Administrators against us the said James Sykes and Agnes Sykes our Executors and Administrators and against all and every person and persons Whatsoever shall and Will Warrant and for ever defend and we the Said James Sykes and Agnes Sykes have put the Said Cuffee Ellis in full possession of the Said negro boy named George Sykes Ellis.
