Whereas I Anna Adams of Kent County in the state of Delaware am entitled to and possessed of a certain negro Man named Stephen and sirnamed Dent and being induced by a variety of reason to contribute thus far towards the general abolition of Slavery, now Know all Men by there presents that I do hereby liberate set free and discharge the said Stephen and hereby renounce & relinquish forever all my right and title to his person and service and entirely quit claim thereto.
