Manumission Cloe from David Lewis 1792

To all to whom this may come know ye that I David Lewis of Kent County and Delaware State Farmer out of a consideration discharge of my duty, and doing Justice to her to hereby manumited and set absolutely free my following named Negro Woman named Cloe aged about Twenty years so that henceforth she shall be deemed adjudged and taken as and for a free Woman to be free and at her own disposal to act to all intents and purposes as other free women for herself without the lets of hindrance or molestation of me my Heirs Executors Administrators or any other person or Persons whatsoever and I do hereby Bind myself my Heirs Executors Administrators in the penal sum of Two Hundred Pounds lawful money of this Government that I or my Heirs Executors Administrators or some or any of us will and shall do and execute any other or further act or deed that she may reasonably request or need for further confirming and ratifying unto her just wright and priveledge which is hereby intended unto her her just wright and priveledge which is hereby intended to be granted unto her as fully and as amply as any Person enjoys the same that is the absolute disposal of her person believing it to be the natural and inherent rite of  all womankind.
