Sale and Manumission of Jim from Robert Cook 1793

Whereas I have this Day sold a Negro Boy Jim (Son of Negro Peg formerly belonging to John Cook, deceased, and devised by said John Cook to me) to John Howard for the Term of Ten Years and four months Vizt until the 28th of Jany. Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and four, when  he will arrive at the age of Twenty two years & no longer_ I do therefore by these Presents manumit &  set free the said Jim after he has seven out the above Term of Years with said Howard, and forever discharge him from the service of my Heirs Executors or Administrators As Witness my Had and Seal this Twenty eight Day of Augt. Anno Dom. 1793. Robt. Cook {seal}
