This Indenture made this twenty eighth Day of March one Thousand seven hundred and ninety four. Between Henry Oldfield Merchant of Murderkill Hundred Kent County and State of Delaware of the one part and Richard Cooper Esqr. Of the Hundred afsd. of the other part witnesses that the said Henry Oldfield for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds allowed him in part of his bond and Judgment by the said Richard Cooper, at and before the Sealing and delivery of these Presents, the Receipt whereof the said Henry Oldfield doth hereby Acknowledge: he the said Henry Oldfield hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Richd. Cooper, four Negroes Namely Jonathan Boatswain Esther Jonathan and Anniss and also one black Moscow Mare one black Horse and a two Years old gray horse Coult, also one Yoke of Steers which he the said Henry Oldfield had of Jacob Dill. Also one Cow and Calf five head of Sheep and eleven head of hogs also two feather Beads and furniture one walnut Dining Table with sundry other household Furniture also one oxx Cart shod with Iron one Plough and Harrow hoes axes &c. To have and to hold the said Negroes and all other the Goods & Chattels above by these presents Bargained and sold unto the said Richard Cooper his Executors Administrators and Assigns forever. provided always and upon Condition that if the said Henry Oldfield his Executors Administrators or Assigns, do and shall well & truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Richard Cooper his Executors, Administrators or Assigns the full and Just Sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds good and lawful Money of the State of Delaware in and upon the first Day of October next coming that then those Presents and every thing Contained herein shall ceas determine and be void anything herein Contained to the Contrary in any wise Notwithstanding and the said Henry Oldfield for himself his Executors and Administrators doth Covenant & grant to and with the said Rich: Cooper his Executors Administrators and Assigns that he the said Henry Oldfield his Executors Administrators or Assigns shall and will well and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Richard Cooper his Executors Administrators or Assigns the said Sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds with Interest thereon good and lawful Money of the State of Delaware at the day and time and in Manner and form afsd. According to the true Intent and Meaning of these Presents. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty eighth day ^of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Ninety four. Kent County State of Delaware Sst. Be it Remembered that Daniel Swiggett and William Alford came into the Court of Common Pleas held at Dover for the said County on the twelfth day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety four and then and there made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they saw Henry Oldfield sign seal and deliver the above and within Deed for the uses and purposes therein Specified and that they in the presence of each other at the same time subscribed their Names as Witnesses. In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and Caused the public Seal of the said Court to be affixed.
