Sale and Manumission Dick by Hugh Durborow to James Jones 1794

Know all men by these presents that I Hugh Durborow late of Kent County and State of Delaware farmer for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty Pounds specie to me in hand paid by James Jones of Duck Creek Hundred in the County and State aforesaid Physician before the unsealing and delivery of these presents have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and Sell and deliver unto the said James Jones a  Certain Negro boy named Dick for the Term of Thirteen Years Commencing the twenty sixth day of March one thousand Seven Hundred and ninety four, and Terminating the twenty fifth day of March in the Year one thousand Eight Hundred and Seven and then the said negro Dick is to be free or forever mancipated agreeable to Law warranting and defending the said negro boy Dick unto the said James Jones or his heirs or assigns from the day of the date hereof against the right title Claim or Demand of any person or persons Claiming by or under me. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal dated this eleventh day of October in the Year of our Lord Seventeen Hundred and ninety four. Hugh Durborow {seal}
