Deed Jonathan Wallace to James Caldwell 1794

Know all men by these presents that I James Caldwell of Guilford County and  State of North Carolina Do hereby Bargain and Sell unto Jonathan Wallace of the County of Kent and State of Delaware all my lawfull right Title and Claim of the Lands willed or Bequeathed unto me by my deceased Mother Mary Caldwell, and also all my lawful  Part of my deceased Brother Andrew Caldwells Lands excepting Two Acres and one Quarter of an Acre which I give to Matthew Shippy Negro man the Husband of  Ruth which said right Title and Claim I do Bargain and sell unto the above ^said named Jonathan Wallace him his Heirs and Assigns forever for the Consideration of Ninety Pounds by him to me in hand paid for which I acknowledge my self fully Contented  and Satisfied therewith. As Witness my hand and Seal this ninth day of the Twelfth  Month Seventeen Hundred and ninety four 1794. James Caldwell {seal}

Kent County Ss. Be it Remembered that Thomas Calls came into the Court of Common Pleas held at Dover for the ^said County on the ninth day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and ninety four, and made Oath that he saw James Caldwell Sign Seal and deliver the above Instrument of writing

for the Uses and purposes therein mentioned and that he saw John Torbert Subscribe Witness to the same: In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and Caused the Public Seal of the said Court to be Affixed. Joseph Hale Prothy
