Manumission Joseph Black from James McClyment 1797

State of Delaware Kent County }  Know all men by these presents that I James McClyment of the County and State aforesaid do hereby Manumit and set absolutely Free Negro Boy Joseph Black late the property of William Lowber, and bought of his widow since the death of the said Wm Lowber to be free at the expiration of Eleven Years from the twenty seventh day of August next, And I do hereby warrant and Defend the above named Negro Boy’s Freedom from any person lawfully claiming by through or under me.
