Know all Men by these presents that I James Milless of the Town of Dover do hereby liberate manumit set free and discharge My Negro Slave named Caleb Cook Blacksmith, and do hereby remise and release all services servitude Right Power and authority which I had have or could or am or was entitled to have by the laws of the State of Delaware, and him do hereby declare to be a free man, Witness my Hands and Seal thisthirtieth day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven Hundred, and Ninety seven.
