Know all men by these presents That We David Rees and Evis Rees of Kent County on Delaware, for and in Consideration of the Sum of Forty Five pounds to us in hand paid by John David of the same place before ye Sealing and Delivery of these presents, whereof we do fully Acquit and Discharge the afsd. John David his Heirs and Assigns, Have Granted Bargained and Sold, and by these presents, do Grant, Bargain and Sell unto the afsd John David one Negro man now in our possession Called and known by the Name of Mingo, To Have, Hold Possess and Enjoy the afsd Negro man unto him the afsd. John David his Heirs and Assigns forever. And We the afsd. David Rees and Evis Rees for ourselves and Each of us jointly and Severally, and for each of Our Heirs, Execrs & Admrs Do hereby Covenant promise and agree to and with the said John David, his Heirs Exrs. Admrs. And Assigns, That We And each of Us will always hereafter Warant and Defend unto the afsd. John David his Heirs and Assigns the afsd Negro man from all manner of persons claiming or to claim the said Negro. Memorandum. After the Sealing and Delivery of the within Bill of Sale the within mentioned David Rees and Evis Rees, did deliver and put into the possession of the within named John David, the within Bargained Negro Called Mingo in due form of Law in the presence of Us.
