Manumission Rachel and Fanny from Benjamin Turner 1801

Know All men by these presents that I Benjamin Turner of the County of Kent and State of Delaware for divers good Causes and Considerations me hereunto Moveing Do by these presents Manumit Enfranchise and set free a Certain Negro woman Named Rachel and her child, (a  mulatto) named Fannah to be free and at their own liberty from and after the date hereof during their and Each of their lives and I do hereby warrant and defend the freedom and Liberty of the afsd. negroe Rachel and her mulatto Child Fanny as afsd. From the Legal claim of me my heirs and executors administrators and Every of them as witness my hand & Seal this the 17th Day of December 1801. Benjamin Turner {seal}

State of Delaware Kent County} Ss. Before me John Ralston one of the Justices of the peace for said County of Kent personly appeared Benjamin Turner and did Acknowledge the above manumission or Instrument of writing to be his act and Deed according to the true Intent and meaning of the same Given under my hand & Seal at Milford in the afsd. County on the 17th day of December 1801.
