Know all men by these Presents, that I William Killen of the County of Kent in the State of Delaware Esquire for Diverse good causes and Considerations me hereunto moveing have Manum[i]ted, liberated, and absolutely set Free, and by these Presents do manumit libertate and absolutely set [fr]ee my certain Negroe male Slave named Moses now of the age of Seven Years and ten months, according to the form and Effect of the Laws of the State of Delaware aforesaid; in Such Case made and provided; and do also release discharge and forever quit claim of in or to the Person or Servitude of the said Negroe male Slave from the date of these Presents forever hereafter In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of July in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and One. Kent County Ss. On the Day of the Date of the above Instrument of writeing, before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the Peace for the County of Kent in the State of Delaware Came the above named William Killen Esquire, and acknowledged the same written Instrument to be his Act and deed According to the form and Effects and the true Intent and meaning thereof.
