Manumission Minty, Jack and Charles from James Newnam 1792

Know all men by these presents that I James Newnam of Kent County on Delaware do hereby Emanumate and set absolutely free my Negroes Viz. My negro Girl named (Minty) fourteen years old (together with her child that she is now Pregnant with) when they shall arrive to the age of twenty five years. Item My Negro boy Jack (Eight  years old) when he shall arrive at the age of twenty five years. Item my negro boy Charles (seven years old) when he shall arrive at above mentioned so that they shall each and every of them be at their own disposal from me or my heirs. And I do hereby Warrant & defend the aforesaid negroes liberty as aforesaid from all and every person or persons whatsoever in the Penalty of three hundred pounds Lawful money of this State as Witness my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of January 1792. Kent County State of Delaware }Ss Be it remembered that William Bostick came into the Court of Common pleas held at Dover in and for Kent County on the fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one, and then and there did make solemn affirmation that he saw James Newnam sign seal and deliver the within manumission or Instrument of writing as his act and deed for the uses therein mentioned: and that he saw Danl. Lowber (sadler) Zadok Truit and Elijah Barratt, subscribe their names thereto as witnesses and that he himself subscribed his own name to the same as one other witness: In Testimony where of I have hereto set my hand and affixed the public seal of the said court the day & year aforesaid.
