Manumission Lyd, Major, Milley and Beel from George Smith 1801

Know all men by these presents that I George Smith of Duck Creek hundred Kent county State of Delaware for divers good causes, me thereunto moving have manumitted And set free the Slave Negroes to be herein after mentioned and named as follows Viz Lyd aged about forty four years old late the Property of Elizabeth Wells dec. having faithfully served me seven years and to be free at the signing sealing of this manumission Major aged thirteen March Last past and to be free December in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred & twelve. Milley aged ten years April last past, and to be free April the Eleventh day of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten. Beel aged seven years September last past and to be free September the twentieth day in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirteen. I do hereby relinquish and yealding Claim to or of the above named Negroes / Slaves after they the said Negroes shall arive at the age or periods or Severally mentioned from me my heirs Executors adm’s. And of all and every person or persons Claiming by from or under me as witness my hand & seal this the seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred one 1801. Kent County State of Delaware } January the tenth one thousand eight hundred & one George Smith the within Grantor Came before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County and State afsd and acknowledged the within instrument to be his act & deed And the within mentioned & named Negroes to be free and Liberated at the time therein expressed Given under my hand and Seal this day & year above written.
