Manumission Lucy from Thomas Primrose 1801

Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Primrose of Kent County in the State of Delaware have and by these presents do hereby Manumit and set free and at liberty from slavery my negro Girl named Lucy retaining nevertheless to myself my Heirs, executors administrators and assigns the full services of the said negro Girl named Lucy untill the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and six; after which day the said Lucy shall and may enjoy all the benefits and advantages that a free negro or free molatto may or can do within this State: In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my seal this fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & one.
