Now this twenty Sixth day of December One thousand Eight hundred and One I William Hughlet do hereby Manumite Emansipate, Liberate and Set free, Negroe John Hawkins and Negro Peter Hawkins Reserveing to myself my Heirs Executors administrators and Assigns their Service and Labour for and During the full time of Ten Years from this day, which Will end the 27th Day of December one thousand Eight Hundred and Eleven Reserving Nevertheless, to myself my Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns, the Wright in Case the Said John Hawkins – or Peter Hawkins, them or Either of them, do or Shall unlawfully abscond so as to defraud me or my Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns from the Service and Labour as aforesaid reserved to the further Service and Labor of them or him so absconding at the rate of not less than two days for one, nor more than five Days for One, for every absent Day as aforesaid so as to make good all Damages to be adjudged of by one Justice of the Piece & three Disinterested freeholders of the Neighborhood Subject to an appeal to the Court of Common Please Negroe Thomas Hawkins has been by me Manumited, to be free on the fifteenth day of January one thousand Eight hundred and fifteen as such Manumission Recorded in Caroline County will fully Shew. I do hereby Manumite Emancipate, Liberated and set free, Negroe Dinah Hawkins, Reserving to myself my heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns his Service and Labour, for and During The full end and Time of Seventeen years from this day – which will end the 26th day of December one thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen Together with the Service and Labour of the Children which she may bear within the aforesaid Time and the Children of the Children in perpetuity until they shall severally from time to time arrive at the age of Twenty five years when they Shall be free Subject nevertheless to Serve, after the aforesaid fixed time for Absconding under the same Limitations as John Hawkins and Peter Hawkins done in Kent County in the State of Delaware the Twenty Sixth day of December one thousand Eight hundred and one.
