Manumission Hester Sanders from John Wiltbank 1803

To all persons to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know ye, that for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving I John Wiltbank, do, hereby declare free, manumit and enfranchise Negro Hess or Hester Sanders hereby declaring the said Negro Hess or Hester Sanders free, & discharged from and after the date hereof, from all claim of service & right of property whatever from me, my heirs executors administrators & assigns: In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty second day of march Anno Domini 1803. State of Delaware Kent County } Ss. Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in & for the county afsd. John Wiltbank party to the above instrument of writing, who acknowledged the same to be his act and deed & the signature & seal thereto Affixed to be respectively his.
