I Joshua Wootten of the town of Dover merchant do hereby manumit, release and set free my negro man George Douglas, whom I this day bought of Mr. McKimmy Smack of Kent County from and after he the said George Douglas shall have paid me or my heirs or assigns the full and just sum of one hundred and eighteen Dollars lawful money of the United States, with legal interest on the same until paid, Then and not until then, I do release and absolve him from all service or services to me or my heirs or assigns- as witness my hand an seal, this Twenty first day of august eighteen hundred and two.
