To all persons to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving, I do hereby declare free, manumit & enfranchise a negro boy named Ebenezer, purchased by me from the heirs of Joseph Miller eqr. decd. from & after the first day of august in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & sixteen, hereby declaring the said Negro Ebenezer, discharged from all claim of service & right of property whatever from me, my heirs executors, administrators & assigns, from & after the said first day of august in the year eighteen hundred & sixteen.
