Know all men by these presents that I Jonathan Brown of Dover Hundred Kent County and State of Delaware Yeoman, for divers Good causes thereunto moaving do hereby manumit and set free my Negro woman Named Cathrine aged twenty two years or thereabouts (being the same woman which I have Sold to George Buckmaster the fourth of this Instant for the Term of three years from the first day of May next) to enjoy her said freedom from the Expiration of said three years from the first day of may as aforesaid, witness my hand and at Dover the fifth day of April one thousand Eight hundred and three 1803. State of Delaware Kent County Sst. } I Do hereby certify that the above manumission was Acknowledged by Jonathan Brown before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County, to be his act and Deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned Given under my hand at Dover the fifth day of April 1803.
