Manumission William Hopkins from Vincent Anderson

Know all men by these presents that I Vincent Anderson of Kent County State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving. Do hereby manumit enfranchise and absolutely set free a certain mulattoe man named William Hopkins who was the property of my wife late Leah Hopkins. To be free and at his full and perfect liberty as soon as he shall work one whole year from the twenty third day of this instant January making up all lost time that my happen by sickness or otherwise agreeable to an article of agreement made and concluded on this day, between John Bradley of the Village of Milford county & state afsd. carriage maker and my self. which said year will expire on the twenty third day of January Eighteen hundred & ten provided no lost time should happen bit if it should its to be made up as afsd. to the said John Bradley with whom he is to work the whole of the said year, at which time the said William Hopkins will be about twenty six year old, And I do hereby warrant and defend the liberty and freedom of the said mulattoe man named William Hopkins from myself my heirs executors or administrators, and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under me. State of Delaware Kent County } I do hereby certify that Vincent Anderson personally appeared before me James Millechop, one of the Justices o the Peace for the said county And acknowledged the within Manumission of William Hopkins mulattoe to be his act and deed in due form of law. this 25. Jany. 1809. Jas. Millechop
