Manumission Sundry Negroes From William McClyment

Know all men by these presents that I William McClymont of the County of Kent and State of Delaware for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving, do hereby Manumit enfranchise and absolutely set free the following nigrises hereinafter mentioned, to wit Charles Hollis to be free and at his perfect liberty from the date of these presents, Thomas Banning to be free and at his full and perfect liberty at the full end and term of three years from the date of these presents; and Richard Cook, Margaret Demby, George Cook, Caroline Cook, Jane Cook, Daniel Cook, and Thomas Cook to be free and at their full and perfect liberty when they shall respectively arive to the age of twenty five years – And I do hereby warrant and defend the liberty and freedom of all the above said Negroes from my selfe my heirs executors and administrators and from all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under me after the full end and terms of the above written termes or times – In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirteen 1813. State of Delaware Kent County SS. } Be it remembered that William McClyment appeared before me John Lowber one of the Justices of the peace for said County and Acknowledged the above Manumission to be his act and dee for the use and purposes therein mentioned, Given under my hand and seal at Dover the first day of January one thousand eight hundred & thirteen 1813.
