Manumission Pompey Loteman from James Jones

To All whom it may concern. This is to certify that I James Jones of Duck Creek Hundred in Kent County and State of Delaware do hereby manumit release and set free my Negro man Pompy Loteman aged twenty one years and eight months Old after he shall have served me my heirs executors and Administrators or Assignes six years and four months and that on the fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen the said Negro man Pompey Loteman is then his own man an that he is free from me my heirs executors and Administrators and for a further confirmation thereof it is my request that this manumission should be recorded in the Recorders Office In Testimony of which I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of may in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fourteen 1814.
