Manumission Joshua Nickerson To Peter Jackson Negro
Know all men by these presents that I Joshua Nickerson of the County of Kent & State of Delaware do hereby manumit enfranchise & absolutely set free my negro man named Peter Jackson to be free & at his full and at perfect liberty at the expiration of seven years from the day of the date hereof at which time he will be about forty two years old, and I do hereby Warrant and defend the liberty and freedom of the Said Negro Man Peter Jackson from my self my heirs executor & administrators & from all & every person & persons lawfully claiming to claim by from or under me In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my and & seal this 14 December Anno Domini 1814.
