Manumission Peter and Jack from Hester Griffin 1804

Know all men by these presents that I Hester Griffin of Duck creek hundred, Kent County in the State of Delaware have, and by these presents do hearby manumate, liberate and set free from slavery the following negrose, in the form following to wit, Peter negro the first day of January eighteen hundred and eight, Jack Negro the first day of January eighteen hundred and thirteen after wich said tirms respectively the said negroes shall be at perfect liberty to injoy all the priviledges and advantages of free negroes and free mulattoese in this State, But it is to be understood that I do hearby retain to myself, my heirs executors, administrators or assigns the services of the said Peter, untill the first day of January eighteen hundred and eight, for Ebenezer Turner his heirs Execurs. Or administrators the said Jack until the first day of January in the year of eighteen hundred and thirteen. In Witness whereof I have hearto set my hand and seal this thirth day of January in the yeare of our Lord eighteen hundred and fore. Hester Griffin {seal}
