To all People before whom These presents may come Greeting, Know Ye, That I Stuart Redman of Duck Creek Hundred, Kent County in the State of Delaware having weighed in the Scale of Justice the Conditions of Slavery, am sensibly convinced that it is unwarrantable, as well by the Laws of Religion as morality, and that as God originally distributed equally to the human Race the unallienable rights to the enjoyment of Personal Liberty so it behoves each man to restore to his fellow Creatures that invaluable blessing of which he by unjust, and impolitic laws is possessed. In Consideration whereof I have, and do by these presents emancipate set free, and forever discharge my two Negro Boys, John and Jack at the time herein after mentioned Vizt. John shall be free on the first day of March which shall be in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six, and Jack shall be free on the first day of March which shall be in the Year our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eleven, In Testimony whereof I have unto These presents set my Hand and Seal this first day of March One thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Nine.
